Mattupetty is a popular hill station that is located at a height of 1700 m, it’s located 13km from Munnar and they are known for its green valleys and the fantastic climate. This dam is a storage concrete gravity dam and this was constructed in the late 1940’s under the pallivasal hydroelectric project. This dam is the haven for most of the birds and animals living out there are constant water availability.

The still water that reflects the tea garden around is the most mesmerizing thing you will find, you can enjoy speed boating and other water sport activities which is being organized by direct tourism and is taken several safety tips for it.

  1. Top Station

Top Station is considered to be the highest point 1700 m that is located about 32 km from Munnar, and it falls on the border of Kerala and Tamilnadu. The view of the Western Ghats and the Theni district valley is said to be the famous one at this spot, also you feel like touching the cloudy sky with your hand when you are at this tourist spot.

You won’t believe me if I say this park is spread over a wide area of 97 sq. km from western Ghats of Idukki district and located 15kms from Munnar. This spot is managed by the forest and wildlife department and you can find rare species collection here. Varieties of shrubs, trees and flowers are kept for the tourist, apart from that you can also find more than 28 different mammal species at this park.

While taking the fees, it’s Rs 15 for Indians and 200 for Foreigners, whereas its 5 for children’s below 12 years old.

One of the museum in Munnar located near nallathanni estate, has the complete history and details regarding the traces of tea plantations, you can find the complete growth explained clearly through photographs and curios for easy understanding to the tourists. The entry fee to Tata tea museum is just Rs 75, where you will be provided with a tasty cardamom tea.

Hydel park is also known as Blossom Park, which is located near to the pallivasal hydroelectric project. Hydel park is best for roller skating, hammocks, mediation caves, cycling and boating. One of the best tourist place for families who has a plan to spend their holidays with kids in Kerala, and the entry fee for this park is just Rs 10 for adults and Rs 2 for children’s. You can find varieties of flower type, plants type and tree type.
